They posed inquiries such as, "Imagine a church that prioritizes others." This mindset centered on serving others has not only influenced our identity but also continues to shape us. As we embarked on establishing a church that worships God and departs to serve, our mission has remained unwavering.


Today, Johntown stands as a single church in Northeast Texas seeking to impact our community with the love of Christ as we seek to love God and others. We want to make disciples for God's glory and the good of the world!

What We Believe

We believe that church isn't just about a building with a cross. It's about people's relationship with God and each other at the cross.

  • About God

    The one and only personal triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, distinct in persons, equal in divine perfection, a mystery accepted by faith alone through grace alone.- Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14

  • About Humanity

    Man was created in the image of God and fell by deliberately trangressing the law of creation and the command given to them by eating the forbidden fruit. By this our first parents fell from their original righteousness and fellowship with God. We fell in them, and through this, death came upon all.- Genesis 1:26, 3:6-24, Jeremiah 17:9, Romans 3:10-19, 5:12-21

  • About Salvation

    Jesus Christ suffered and died as a substitute for mankind so that our sin debt would be paid. We are saved by grace through faith the moment we repent and believe in Him as Savior and Lord.- Isaiah 53:6, John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 5

  • About the bible

    The Bible is the inspired, verbal, plenary inspiration given to specefic prophets and apostles. It is the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice.- Psalm 119:160, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Romans 15:4, 2 Peter 1:20-21

Senior Pastor

As an elder, I desire to provide Christ-centered preaching, teaching, and shepherding. As a disciple-maker, I desire to grow alongside fellow believers as we exhort and edify each other to fulfill our God-given giftedness. Finally, as a servant, I desire to serve anyway that I can to glorify God because whatever we do, we are to do it for Him. I have my Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University and my Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO.


I am married to Melissa! We have two kids, Francesca (24) and Spencer (11). We enjoy movies, playing games, and laughing together. I enjoy being outdoors & "all things" eating, Melissa loves "all things" food while Spencer loves "all things" YouTube & video games. Francesa lives in Arkansas!

Kids are my passion. I am an elementary school teacher, but even more than that I love teaching Jesus to kids! My mission alongside my JMBC family, is to train up these precious children, and give them a firm foundation to cling to. Ultimately, there is no greater joy than witnessing someone accept Salvation and turn their lives over to our Lord and Savior! 


I am married to my husband, Shawn of 22+ years, who works in HVAC/ home appliance repair and is also a Deacon, we have 3 wonderful kids, Gavin (19) who has surrendered his life to the Lord and is attending TBI, Tenley (10), she loves all things art, music and helping out with the babies at church and Michael (8) who loves animals and has a heart for all of God's creations. We love spending time as a family by cooking and watching movies at home. The guys love all things outdoors and Tenley and I love our girl time.
